Dr. Cecelia Quinn
(She, Her, Hers), PhD, LCSW, CST: Owner and Therapist at Rebel Mind Therapy, PLLC.
It is an honor and a privilege to bear witness to peoples’ stories. I believe in the possibility for growth, expansion and finding joy and pleasure with therapy. Through gender-affirming and cultural-responsive care, I strive to provide a holistic, non-judgmental therapeutic space. I practice strengths-based, sex-positive and trauma-informed, feminist therapy. Sex and intimacy are an essential component of our humanity and allow us to access our fullest potential. Social justice is an integral part in working against systemic inequality and oppression, which can greatly impact our well-being. As clients, you are experts in your own lived experiences. Our intersecting identities including gender, race, religion, culture, sexuality, ability and socioeconomic status mold our worldviews and shape our identities. Using an intersectional framework, I collaborate with every individual to address their personal needs and to construct a customized plan for treatment.
I have a PhD in Social Work and a Masters in Women and Gender Studies as well as a Masters in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago. I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and an AASECT-Certified sex therapist (CST) with two decades of post-master’s clinical experience as well as many years of teaching and supervisory experience. I was an adjunct professor in the School of Social Work at Loyola University Chicago from 2011-2022 where I taught both graduate and undergraduate classes in Social Work and Women and Gender Studies. I received a BA from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) in Spanish in 2001. Afterwhich, I served in the Peace Corps from 2002-2004 in Turkmenistan. I have extensive experience teaching as well as broad clinical experience. I am committed to social justice, gender and racial equality and human rights. I consider myself an international, feminist social worker as I recognize our connection to all of humanity.
